5 Ways to Beat The Monday Blues

Let’s face it, Monday’s aren’t a typical favorite. We’re all sad to see the weekend go, but Monday’s don’t have to suck. Here are my 5 Ways to Beat the Monday Blues (besides an IV drip of caffeine).

  1. Wear a Cheer-y Color- I have a yellow sweater that I love to wear on Monday’s. It makes me feel bright and positive. It may seem silly, but it works. Give a snazzy color a try this Monday.
  2. Get an Early Start-  When we’re late it puts our whole morning in a funk. Get up a little earlier on Monday’s to ensure that you’re on time and ready to tackle your week with a great start.
  3. Listen to Happy Music- Studies have shown that the music we listen to directly effects our mood. Make sure on Monday’s you’re listening to something upbeat and fun. I have no personal shame, I jammed Party in The USA this morning.
  4. Treat Yourself- I love to make Monday’s my nail appointment or massage day. Also, think about having dinner with a girlfriend on Monday’s. Having something to look forward to is a great way to get you through the day.
  5. Positive Affirmations-  If you’ve read any of my other posts you’ll know I’m really into the power of positivity. The belief that something will go well is half the battle! Tell yourself that “Today will be great! There are so many things to look forward to! You will amazing today!”. You’ll be surprised how far a little positivity will get you.
